Welcome The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sultanpur

Training

KVK has imparted training to the practicing farmer, farm women, rural youth and extension personnel in different areas for creating awareness, development of understanding, improvement of knowledge and skill regarding day to day advances in agriculture and allied areas for increasing production as well as improving family income. The emphasis has been given to the disadvantaged families viz. small, marginal farmers and landless laboures to provide training in local specific and economically viable technologies. The rural youth have been also trained to upgrade their skill and knowledge for generating self employment.

Apart from above, involvement of other partners of development units like panchayat, block level functionaries have been made to catalyse the adoption rate of technologies among the beneficiaries. Thus, training programmes were also conducted to the extension functionaries for updating the knowledge. Identification of problems and training needs have been assessed and courses were developed accordingly. The duration of training programme ranges from 1 to 15 days and one month to 6 months depending upon the clients need and the nature of courses. The short duration courses were conducted to the practicing farmers and farm women, whereas, long duration courses were conducted for rural youth.

Such trainings covered horticulture, crop production, fish production, plant protection measurements, live stock production, home science, farm forestry, extension etc. These trainings succeeded in not only empowering participants by way of gain in knowledge but also motivated some trainees to translate the knowledge into action as reflected in establishment of vermin compost units, practicing supplementary livestock feeding with green fodder and mineral mixture including better management practices and adopting fruit and vegetable preservation practices by women as a group activity. It has laid to creation of additional income generation avenues in the district.
